Title: body/interior color combo and headrests
Post by: AutoXSS on March 29, 2010, 08:59:55 AM
getting a Diamantschwarz(spelling?) 1991 318is next week. It has silver(0270?) carpet/headliner and cloth sport seats. I want 2 swap over 2 black leather/vinyl. Gonna just do the doorcards and rear seat cards, front and rear seats, and rear headrests. Will this look ok? Were any offered like this? I plan on black floormats after I get everything swapped. Also, was the rear headrest a stand alone option? was it offered on the 91' 318is? my donor also has the rear armrest in the seat.

I think it'd look great.  Black on black, it'll be very subtle.

I have a more-or-less black interior in my burgundy red 325 and I think it's too monochromatic. It doesn't help that the deck has faded to blue...the carpet is multicolor purple from the sun.

My brilliant red 318i has a black leather sport interior with tan cards/carpet & rear deck.  It looks a bit odd to me, but it's really comfortable.  The donor carpet was too worn to swap and the coupe cards won't go in the sedan.
