Title: Car won't unwind.
Post by: dr.zed on February 28, 2010, 05:30:42 PM
Car is an E30 325e.  Just finished new control arms (with bushings), M3 offset control arm bushings and inner and outer tie rod ends.

I used bilstein sport shocks on eibach springs.  Used new strut mounts and Ireland camber plates.

Well as it ended up I guess what I gained in negative camber I lost in 1/4" ride height with the plates?

CASTER 8.5 and 8.63
CAMBER - 1.17 and -1.27
TOE .16 and .16

REAR
CAMBER -1.94 and -1.83

The car turns in with a little sway (stock sway bar new end links) but then digs in nicely, however as the car unwinds itself I have to turn the wheel to straighten it out at the last minute.

This happens at slow and high speed.

Any thoughts?

My 91 318is does the same thing after similar repairs.  I thought the .5 deg difference between my left and right camber might be causing it but your cambers are close. I still think it is something in the alignment..
