What injection/ignition, system are you using? The 91 uses the crank signel to fire the fuel relay.(grounding it , I think)
The 84 uses a dist rpm signal to ground the relay. Both fire the controller, and the controller grounds the relay
Both need a rotation signal of some sort to maintain the fuel relay ground.
The rest of the controls have been engine specific. I dont see why the 84  system wont work on the 91 engine. But you have to use some sort of crank fired ignition system. Maybe there is a front cover that can fit a dist into the cam, for a dist. .. IDK. MM

i found some of the problems for it. I connected three of the green wires that engages the neutral safety switch.. the motor turns out.. but doesnt start... so i bypassed the fuel relay and it was working. when i put the relay back in. it wasnt working.. so i guess i need a new relay?right

If the ECU isn't getting power the fuel pump won't turn on. You will want to get an early 318i wiring diagram and a late model e30 one (a 318iS would be best) compare and work out what has to be spliced where.

What ECU are you running?  Did you take the entire M42 wire harness and ECU?  It won't fire the ignition if it does not see the crank position sensor.

i also bent the chip on my ecu... (my stupidity)=[[

Im leaning toward the markd chip.. but im also going to get a ecu from the junk yard... and probably both the sensors for the junkyard aswell to finish up my project
