When I was tearing my new engine down this weekend I found this:

WTF. Just spend a few buck on a oil pan for a junkyard! Looks like I will have to go through this motor a little more carefully than I first thought. :?
I don't really care, I just thought it was a weird fix. The hose clamp was broken too.
Now you know why I have a WTB in the classifieds for a new upper pan :)

Its bad enough finding bolts loose, but a hose clamp holding it together? Total w1n. I wonder how long it was running with that in there?
-
It don't get no more "GHETTO" than that.
WOW that is unbelievable.
good luck
-
Wonder how hard the PO cracked the lower pan? That's unreal. It's a tribute to BMW making good decisions though.
