Half a set from the new M3. Anyone seen this attempted?
-
interesting question.
you've made me curious and i looked at realoem. looks like adapting these TBs would involve about the same amount of work as any other solution that doesn't bolt on.
check it out, e92 m3, then the hardware is under "fuel preparation system".
i've gotta say though, being able to bolt the dbilas hardware straight on was pretty nice...

good luck getting a hold of a set

Agreed, but the price is not. I am trying to get S50B32 ITB's for under $100. If I can pull that off, it's way worth it IMO.

I don't know man. There had to be a lot of dipshits that bought these cars and then went out and played Michael Schumacher (especially asians who can do math and make money. we all know they are the worst drivers ever). There has got to be a fuck ton of wrecked ones out ther already. Not only that, I don't know if you recall the first shipment of E9x M3's back in 2007 that were damaged in transit with more than half being "totaled".

Now now, play nice...
These ITBs are a good idea though. I wonder what the linkages look like. Are they fly-by-wire or valvetronic?

Dunno. Was laid of within 40 days of our dealership getting our first E9x M's/ So I wasn't there long enough to tear one down. Damn economy. Did get to teardown V10M's twice though. Hawt.
damn right
And let me clarify that statement. I am not saying Asians with money are bad drivers. I'm saying all Asians are bad drivers. The ones with money wreck M3's rather than Previa's.....
Proof...

hahahahaha so true. Asians are horrible drivers. No offense.
-
Please send all these rich Asians, bad drivers or not, to my locale. We could use the money...it'd be nice to see kids in M3s instead of pickup trucks, no doubt about it.
-
Uhhhh, as long as you promise to keep them. I'd rather have rusty old p/u trucks any day of the week. I'm telling you, you'll regret it.
-
E9x M3 are definitely fly by wire so you'd have to convert them.
Also, you propably run into all kinds of alignment problems with bolts and intake port, port sizes and shapes don't match...
S50 ITB's are pretty much straight swap and they are cheap and plentiful here in europe, no need to look anything else.
-
Good to know, because I just picked up Euro S50B32 ITB's for $120. Just have to chop two off, fab runners and an intake plenum.....and figure out how to bypass the AFM.
