Any truth to this?
From what I'm seeing looking at pics they look the same; length must be the only difference, but honestly if they're selling them like that they must be long enough, right :confused:
Hell, parts stores sell Accent wires for like 20 bucks ... compared to 150 for our cars ... I think I might pick up a set to check out if they actually work.

LOL! Terminal ends are nothing special and should fit. Only difference may be the length as stated...but seriously $20 ignition leads??? =/
Just remember, you get what you pay for...cheap = crappy insulation = Voltage leak/future misfires ;)

I know I know, but even Magnacor and the like are about half the price they are for m42 wires ... so ...
my dad has a Accent 1.5 12v at work and also a m44 318 and he'll check if lengths and ends are same tomorrow. stay tuned

mine i change to a ngk power cable..blue colour..its made for honda civic..it fits well like it was made for my car..e36 m42..the only thing is u cant fit the covers..
performance wise..much better than those beru..smooth power curve..

Can you post some pics/tell us which engine Civic they're for.
I really don't care about whether or not I have the cover. :dunno A nice thick set of wires looks as good as a piece of plastic with BMW written on it IMO.
edit: or just a NGK part number if you got it; that way I can cross reference it

I went to autozone today to try this out. The guy working the counter was extremely helpful and let me try out several different wires after he realized the ridiculous price of OEM replacements.
The Hyundai wires DO NOT WORK.
Although after trying several others 1994 Acura Integra LS wires work. Although you will not be able to keep the valve cover plastic cover, because of the wire length.
The price of the integra wires was $32. I am going to run them until I can get a COP kit.

I also got $30 Civic wires; 2000 DX to be exact. Like Formulatwo said, the cover no longer fits since wires 1 and 2 cannot follow the same route the OE wires do due to lenght. But I really don't give two shits about that since I'm saving myself over $100. Maybe later I can drill a hole or two on the cover to make it fit...

Some of the Hyundai Accent wires don't work (I don't know about all) The ones at NAPA where $20.00 but did not work. The part that goes down into the head most be 4" long from tip to where it touches the valve cover. The Hyundai ends were 2-1/2" long only. Bad luck. I ended up putting Magnecor 8.5mm wires on. I did not use the guard that holds all 4 wires over the headers & cut the back of the plastic tray. The wires now go back & then go up then over to the OBD 1 plug harness then go over r to the coils. They don't go anywhere near the engine, or exhaust. The plastic BMW cover was retained. The Magnecor were about $105-$110 delivered. You can also get Magnecor 8mm for less.

I'm using spark plug wires off a Volvo 850. $5 at the JY. They were practically brand new when I bought them.

I dont think that any Jap spec wires will have the correct coil ends. Bosch uses the small male pin style, and the only other cars with that style will be VW, Volvo, etc. Bosch coils.
Most likely is the VW 16V 2.0 litre. Still wont fit the guide tube and will be shorter.etc.
I dont understand the rush for COP .
90% of the E36 cars that show up with a skip, have a bad coil. These stand alone coils seem to last pretty well. IMHO.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but does anyone else know of any cheaper, interchangable spark plug wires? I found a slash in mine so I tried the Duralast ones from a 94 integra, but they wouldnt sit in properly. Has anyone else confirmed the 2000 civic set as an option?

As stated, the jap wires dont fit the coils, or the plugs. VW 16V may fit. The coil pins need to be the small pin style.

Actually, I thought the same thing, but decided to gamble with the civic wires and it fires up the car fine.
