Title: M20 Flywheel swap quick question
Post by: KenC on January 14, 2010, 09:47:03 PM
I just got my hands on a euro 323i flywheel (13.5lbs), so I'll be selling my stock 325i flywheel.

Do I still need to use the spacer?  There is MUCH less material on the non-mating side, so the 323 flywheel won't hit the block without the spacer.

No, so long as your starter pinion lines up correctly. I have this setup. And that FW should be 11.9lbs.

Also, your will hear a ton of rattling when idling with the clutch pedal up once installed. Just an FYI. It's annoying and sounds terrible, but well worth it IMO.
