Title: Stock Clutch HP Capacity?
Post by: AcSchnitzer318is on January 02, 2010, 08:54:41 PM
Anyone know how much horsepower the stock clutch is good for?

Reason I ask is I am deciding whether or not to replace it with a performance clutch.  I am pushing in the neighborhood now of 200-230 rwhp with my turbo car and am getting slip in 4th and 5th.

I am pretty sure my clutch is very old and is the reason for the slipping rather than the clutch not being able to cope with the added power.  I could be wrong though and is why I am asking you guys.  Thanks for the help.

No one?  I think I might have to go with a spec stage 2 clutch... will hold 270 ft/lbs.  I know I'm not near that.
