Hey all, my timing chain has gotten progressively worse over the last 10,000 km´s so tomorrow with the help of a friend we are going to refresh the timing components.
Besides the guides, chain, tensioner and sprockets can anyone tell me what else i should take a look at while i have all the covers off? i´d like to fix any else that might creep un on me.
I´ll post up pictures as i go along. It may help the next poor soul who has to do this in the future
Just some additional info in case anyone is wondering.
The car is a ´90 is with around 208,000 km´s on the odo.
Fan clutch and waterpump have both been replaced within the last 8,000
Coolant hoses replaced within the last 10,000 km.
Cheers

If things go well, two weeks tops. We were supposed to pick up the spare motor today, but looks like that´s not going to happen until saturday.
The plan is to use the head from the spare as well as the cams. Hopefully they will be in better shape.
For the time being i´m just trying to clean the engine bay as well as replacing the worn motor mounts.
Saturday i should have more updates and pictures.
Happy New Year All!!!!
