Title: M42 cams

Does anyone know if all m42 cams are interchangeable?
I couldn't find any posts regarding this question.
I've been told that later years are more aggressive and possibly better performance, but will they work mechanically and not adversely affect driveability?
Any info is appreciated.

How about you compare part numbers on realoem.com and then you will find out if there is a differance. I know from m42 to a m44 they are different.
